Cricket Thigh Pad Size Calculator

Enter the player’s height to find a practical starting size for a cricket thigh pad. Height is the main reference for this tool; always confirm that the pad sits securely over the leading thigh without restricting the batting stance or running movement.

Calculate a starting thigh-pad size

Measure the player’s full standing height without shoes. Then select the batting side so you know which orientation to choose when ordering.

How to check thigh-pad fit

  • The main guard should cover the leading thigh from near the hip towards the knee without sitting directly on the kneecap.
  • If the design includes an inner-thigh guard, position it over the inside of the opposite thigh and check that the connecting section lies comfortably.
  • Tighten the waist and leg straps enough to limit rotation, but not so tightly that they restrict bending, running or breathing.
  • Take a normal stance, complete a controlled backlift and walk or jog a few steps. Reposition the guard if it shifts or catches.
  • For players close to a height boundary, compare both neighbouring sizes and prioritise secure coverage and free movement.
