Fit and bat care

Check length, balance and pickup before choosing a heavier blade. A bat should remain comfortable throughout a full batting session, not just a few practice swings. English willow needs appropriate preparation and knocking in before hard-ball use. Follow DSC's care instructions and protect the toe from moisture.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the BLU Mirage or Spliit Mirage?

This is the BLU Mirage. DSC also uses the Mirage name in other ranges, so match the full model name when choosing your bat.

Which willow grade is supplied?

DSC identifies the BLU Mirage as Grade 2 English willow. This listing is not for a Kashmir willow or tennis-ball bat.

Which size is available here?

This listing offers adult Short Handle only. Check your preferred bat length rather than relying on age alone when selecting a size.

Is an exact weight or grain count guaranteed?

No. Timber, grain appearance and playing weight vary. Contact us before ordering when a particular weight is important to you.

Is preparation included in the listed price?

Do not assume a knocking-in or oiling service is included. Confirm any preparation options separately before using the bat with a hard ball.

Care and common questions

How should I care for this product?

Follow the bat manufacturer’s oiling, knocking-in and storage instructions. Introduce natural-willow bats gradually to hard-ball use; a workshop service does not guarantee immediate match readiness. Avoid excessive oil, damp storage and direct heat. Check face, edges and toe after play.

How do I choose the right size?

Choose pickup, not just appearance.

Can I confirm individual product details?

Email info@nzcricketstore.com with the product name and selected variant. Ask about individual photographs, bat weight, materials or compatibility before placing the order.

When will it arrive?

Delivery costs and options appear at checkout. Orders normally take one business day to process before dispatch; workshop preparation and product availability can add time.
